A Six Week Discussion of The Third Day: Living the Resurrection by Tom Berlin
(Each gathering stands alone, so please come even if you missed last week’s.)
The Resurrection is not just a historical event, but an assurance for Jesus’ followers, then and now, that God offers hope, new life, and God’s presence not only in our brightest moments, but also our darkest. What does that look like in our lives? Each Sunday, we can get insight by seeing what it looked like to those who experienced it firsthand, using The Third Day: Living the Resurrection by Tom Berlin as our guide. Bishop Berlin “has an extraordinary ability to connect our lives with the characters of the Bible.” We’re very excited about this opportunity to continue exploring the hope of living the Resurrection together!

How does Simon Peter’s encounter with the risen Christ offer us hope for our own lives? Peter, like each of us, made mistakes which trapped him in self-condemnation and doubt. Explore how Peter’s post-Resurrection encounter with Jesus by the sea illustrates how God’s abundant grace allows our failures to refine us rather than define us.
