What's new


Is there anybody here?

Not many, I know.

Because of the lack of internet access, etc., I know that not many of you check the website frequently. That's why I don't update as often, which is also why you don't tend to check the website, so I don't update often, etc. etc. etc.

Still, I thought I'd mention the things we're up to:

- cookie-baking for recent grads sometime this month. It'll probably be Sunday the 22nd, but I'll send out e-mail reminders as it gets closer.

- Operation Christmas Child wrapping party on the 19th! Come up to LUMC on the afternoon of the 19th and have some snacks, listen to Christmas music, and wrap the shoeboxes that'll be sent out all around the world. See you then!

Kick-Off!

Well, LUMC Youth, you're back to school and we're back to events and ministry at LUMC!

Just a few quick things:

- you'll be getting your newsletters & calendars in the next day or so

- Sunday School sign-up is this coming Sunday (the 13th)

- Sunday School starts the following Sunday, September 20th

- Sr. High youth group will be on Thursday nights from 7pm-9pm, starting on September 17th

- Sr. High Stock Car Race Trip & Retreat, September 18th-19th

- 6th-8th grade Lock-In on September 26th-27th

Yes, we'll be doing the "put the verse on the calendars together and win a prize in June" contest again. There were at least a half dozen of you that got last year's verse ("He is before all things, and in Christ all things hold together.") and told me what you thought it meant, so my goal is to have even more of you get it this coming year!

I hope your first day of school went all right, and that you know if you ever need something, just give me a ring.

Stock car race - canceled :-(

As of today, August 28th, Kathy lee has heard from no one that planned on coming to watch the stock car race. :-( So, we'll have to cancel the event for tonight.

That's too bad, 'cause it sounded like it was going to be lots of fun! Oh well... maybe we'll shoot for sometime in September, okay? We'll be in touch soon!

Off to camp again! :-)


Once again, I will be traveling to Casowasco for the summer. So, I hope to see you all there at some point!

BUT, we've still got some great Sr. High activities going on here at LUMC! There's bowling on July 21st, roller-skating on August 3rd, and going to watch a stock car race on August 28th, so be there or be triangle!

April events


Hey all - we've got a few great things ready for you this month! The annual 6th-8th grade Flashlight Egg Hunt will be this Friday, April 3rd, @ 8pm! It'll be at LUMC because of all the rain, but it will be great fun - see you there! 

For you Sr. Highers, we're going to be baking cookies for just a few hours during your Spring Break, on Tuesday April 14th from 2pm-4pm. We'll mail these cookies to our LUMC graduates who are gearing up for their final exams for the year! They really appreciate it, and I bet you will too when you go off to school, so I hope to see you there!

March Events


Remember - in addition to the Sr. High youth group every Thursday, we've got the...

SR. HIGH UKRAINIAN EGG DECORATING on SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH, FROM 1PM-4PM!!!

It's lots of fun, really, so bring a tapered candle and a friend and you'll make an awesome design!

But, wait! There's more! For our 6th-8th graders, we've got a Mystery Night on March 15th, from 5:30pm-7:30pm. We'll provide dinner and fun - you just show up!

Events // Sunday School

So... I just wanted to thank all you Jr. Highers for coming to the Game Night on Sunday - it was lots of fun! "Apples to Apples" will most likely remain a must-do from now on, just like "Catch Phrase"! If you had fun, then you only have to wait a few more weeks to do it again - there's a Family Game Night scheduled during your Winter Break in February, so members of the whole congregation will get together and have some food and fellowship together. It'll be great!

Also, Sr. Highers - Bowling this Sunday! It's been a while since we've done something just for fun and fellowship, so we're going bowling this Sunday after Sunday School. Just be here at LUMC at 11:30, and we'll have some food and head up to King Ferry.

ANNDDDD.... If you haven't been at Sunday School lately, you SHOULD COME THIS WEEK! In the Jr. High class we'll talk about Moses a little bit more in our big-picture study of the Bible, Once Upon A Time. In the Sr. High class, you'll be seeking to understand the often-confusing-but-still-interesting-and-important book of Revelation. I hope to see you all on Sunday!
