Youth Mission
Since its beginning in the early
1990s, Youth Mission has brought youth from Lansing United Methodist
Church and the All Saints Catholic Church together with
opportunities for fellowship, service and spiritual growth. The mission
trips the group undertakes provide a way for different cultures to
interact in a mutually beneficial way. In the past, groups have
traveled to:

Preparation is currently underway for a mission trip to Guatemala in 2012. Mission trip participants pay for their own travel, so all funds raised go to mission projects.
Fundraisers to support the upcoming trip to the San Lucas Toliman mission in Guatemala have included a talents & goods auction, a chili-cookoff, a cross-Cayuga swim, a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s, a cake wheel at the Lansing Harbor Festival, and a spaghetti dinner. Ongoing fundraisers include monthly can/bottle drives and fair-trade coffee, chocolate, and Guatemalan crafts sales at the Lansing Farmers Market.
- Puerto Rico - To help in rebuilding following Hurricane Hugo
- Johns Island in South Carolina - Repairing homes
- West Virginia - Worked to improve substandard housing in the area
- Guatemala - Work included building stoves, reforestation, coffee sorting
